SKATING ACADEMY LESSONS AT ICETOWN
At IceTown Carlsbad, we use the Learn To Skate USA program for our Skating Academy. The Learn To Skate USA program is designed to be the best beginner’s ice skating program that serves the needs of both the recreational and competitive skater. Through this program, our coaching staff helps skaters achieve their goals, whether they be Olympic fame or simply to enjoy the recreational benefits of skating.
Classes are grouped by age and ability and depending on your level, classes are 30 minutes. There are five weeks during the year that classes are not held: Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year. The monthly payments are due every month and are based on an average of 47 classes per year.
There are 4 Skating Packages offered:
#1 Bronze Package (This package is only offered to Tots (ages 3 - 5yrs), Youth Starter (6 yrs. & up), Adults, Hockey Tots and Beginning Hockey)
#2 Silver Package
#3 Gold Package
#4 Platinum Package
- Bronze members who take 30 minutes of class per week will receive one open session per week.
- Silver members who take 60 minutes of class per week will receive two open sessions per week.
- Gold/Platinum members who take 90 minutes of class per week will receive three open sessions per week.
These sessions can only be used by the Icetown academy member and are not transferable.
Skaters are allowed one make up class per month per class enrolled.
Trial Class
Wanting to try ice skating but not sure if you will like it? Not to worry, we have a Trial Class for that very reason. Offered only to NEW skaters, limit one trial class per skater. The drop in price is only $15, more than 50% off of our normal rate per class!
HOW TO GET STARTED
Once you have received your confirmation email: Print and bring it on your first day or show us on your mobile device.
All skaters must be members of Learn to Skate USA in order to participate in the Academy.
$16.00 + processing fee - Learn to Skate USA Membership Fee, which includes:
- Sports accident insurance coverage
- Participation in Academy lessons, competitions and performances
- Receive membership cards and current membership materials (i.e. record books, pencils, stickers, zipper pulls, member/year patches)
- Subscription to SKATING Magazine

Ballet For Skaters
Beginner 30 Minute Class: $32.00 additional per month / Non- Member 40.00 per month
Advanced 60 Minute Class (Invitation Only): $60.00 additional per month/ Non- Member $80.00 per month
These classes can be taken without packages or added on to any package with Special Skate Academy Member discounted pricing.
